A message from our president
It is with pride and gratitude that I welcome you to the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter’s 25th Annual Torchbearers Awards Breakfast. Our theme, “Embracing the Spirit and Power of Women to Advance Change,” epitomizes the great partnerships within Maryland that we have established throughout the years. Your dedication to our programs and events have enabled us to continue our focus on public policies, socio-economic development, leadership development, education, health, and gender equity for Black Women and young girls.
Continuing our legacy of honoring outstanding women who are role models in our community, please join me in welcoming today’s honorees: Dr. Shirley Malcolm, Dr. Charlene Dukes, Dr. Tuajuanda Jordon, and Stephanie Cole-Hill. Additionally, we extend warm greetings and appreciation to our Presidential awardee, “The Afro American Newspaper,” a community stalwart. The Chapter is also very appreciative of our sponsors: American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), Prudential Insurance Company, Metropolitan Employees Credit Union (MECU), and Trustworthy Staffing Solutions.
This special occasion gives members of our local chapter an opportunity to pay homage to our National President, Michele McNeill-Emery. We are extremely proud that she is one of us. Finally, for the second year in a row, the committee under the outstanding leadership of Sara Smalley, Chairperson, has done a phenomenal job of presenting another noteworthy Torchbearer Awards Breakfast. We are very grateful for their dedication and hard work.
